Retractable dog door for front door

This gate is really nice. It's different from anything I've ever seen or used before. I have a room with a door frame that's smaller than the standard door frame sizes, not sure why, and the previous owner didn't leave the door for it. I've used the wooden baby gates but those are a hassle since I can't just step over them. This gate looked a bit complex and awkward until I got it out of the box. The directions recommend you attach to your door and door frame, that way you can still open your door(not all the way but enough to see who's there) without your dog escaping.... NOT what I was needing but I thought it was worth a shot. I'm really glad I got this gate. It's easy to install... you attach 4 mounting brackets to the wood with screws and slip the metal posts right inside. It includes sticky tape, I don't recommend this at all... but it didn't hold up but a day and had fallen. This gate has some weight to it, mind you it's thin metal bars but still has weight and it could've landed on my boys(2 little poodles), thankfully that didn't happen and my hubby installed within minutes. Be mindful of how far away you attach the brackets, my hubby went a tad too far so it's rather taught and snug. Had he left a little loose, i could easily open and close with one hand. To open and close you slide the rod up and slip the hook into the mounted bracket, it's a really smooth fluid motion that's super easy to operate. Please note, this gate is not sized for average doorway openings! I do believe it may be a bit too short so you'd have to use it for the manner in which the company recommends, again my doorway is several inches smaller than the standard. Overall I'm very pleased with this gate and super glad I've got a way to walk through my doorway easily and hassle free!

This is a solid metal gate that accordion in and out from a base. The kit includes a couple different ways to secure the gate to a base, such as screws and double sided tape. This is a great solution for quickly putting up a barrier for your dog that is quickly removed. However, the barrier has a few spots that a determined small dog or puppy could make it through.
